Trainer network expands the programme beyond the Niger Delta
Thirty-four lead trainers were recruited and accredited so the enterprise programme could be delivered nationally, after demand from young people outside the Niger Delta outgrew its original footprint.
Thirty-four lead trainers were recruited and put through a two-day Train the Trainer programme, giving the enterprise curriculum the delivery capacity to run nationally for the first time.
The new trainers represented 17 training organisations drawn from Rivers, Delta and Lagos States and the Federal Capital Territory.
Why it mattered
Until that point the programme operated only within the Niger Delta. Demand from young people elsewhere in the country was consistently greater than the programme could serve from a single region, and building a distributed trainer network was the change that made national delivery possible.
That principle still holds under NRiSE: training is delivered by accredited Nigerian trainers working in their own communities, rather than centralised in one place. See Train the Trainer for how accreditation works today.
